When 428 workers ratified their first ever collective bargaining agreement right around the Labor Day weekend, I thought ... excellent timing to make the announcement. As I put the story together, however, I began to realize that this CBA came almost a year after the workers voted to join the union. That lead me to thinking about the section of the Employee Free Choice Act that speaks directly to this issue.
This piece is about the workers and touches on the thoughts around EFCA. Enjoy, repost, comment, etc.

All of the rights and protections that workers have achieved were won because people just like you sacrificed to make progress and to achieve fairness.
Nearly 600 hospital workers in Kansas City, Mo voted this week to join SEIU. This victory is particularly sweet for me because I did a lot of work on this one. If you are interested in hearing aobut the work I do as an Online Organizer with the union, drop me a line at Richard@unionreview.com.
It was 47 years-ago today that Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. stood on the steps of the Capitol and delivered his famous, "I have a dream" speech." That speech was given at "The march for jobs and freedom," there were 250,000 people participating.
As many of us remember Dr. King as a hero, a leader among leaders -- we must not forget that just a few days ago a hardworking cab driver in NYC was brutally stabbed for being Muslim.
